We believe that nonprofits:
- help make available a broad spectrum of arts, performing arts and humanities, health care, and social services to citizens of the region.
- serve the community and increase the opportunities for its citizens to reach their potential.
- support the growth of the private, for-profit sector by making the region a more attractive place to live and raise families.
- offer members of the community an opportunity to actualize their values by supporting initiatives that promote the common good.
- often struggle with limited resources to provide services to people who many times are unable to pay for those services.
We will:
- treat requests for our assistance with respect and as an opportunity to extend the potential benefit of an organization’s mission.
- protect the confidentiality of all information that emerges in the consultation process with our clients.
- honestly reflect an organization’s current position relative to its stated values, mission and goals for the future.
- truly appreciate and recognize the power of consensus and diversity.
- assist the client in the recognition of internal and external resources to further its mission.
- assure that our work is competently performed and guided by the needs and interests of the clients.
- keep our word.
We promise to:
- be honest in the way we gather, report and present information.
- remain free of outside interests or business relationships that may compromise the credibility or integrity of our services.
- take responsibility for our decisions, acknowledge our limitations and learn from our mistakes.
- act honorably and ethically in dealing with the public, our clients and our colleagues.
- be guided by our mission in order to transcend personal interests or conflicts between or among staff, volunteers and board members.
- try to always do the right thing.
- be conscientious in observing these principles.
