Rob Kaplan
Rob Kaplan is Manager of Corporate Responsibility at Brown-Forman, producer and marketer of 35 spirits and wine brands including Jack Daniels, Finlandia Vodka, and Fetzer Wines. Charged with managing and reducing the company’s environmental and social impacts, he develops brand and communication strategies to engage consumers while achieving corporate responsibility commitments. Rob works across Brown-Forman on sustainability and responsibility initiatives, including, for example, packaging initiatives to cut carbon footprints, global green marketing and cause marketing platforms, and drunk driving prevention strategies.
In Louisville, Rob serves on the board of directors of the Kentucky Resources Council, the advisory board of the Kentucky Green Building Council, and is a member of the Bingham Fellows class of 2010 focusing on greening Louisville. Rob is also co-founder and leadership team member of Net Impact Bluegrass, the only Kentucky chapter of an international organization whose mission is to inspire, educate, and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world.
Rob received his MBA from the Haas School of Business – UC Berkeley, where he studied general management and concentrated on brand management, corporate responsibility, and social entrepreneurship.
Prior to graduate school, Rob was Communications Director for Fight Crime: Invest in Kids California, a nonprofit advocating for increased public investment in education and crime-prevention, and a political consultant at M&R Strategic Services in Washington, DC for a variety of national environmental nonprofits. Rob received his undergraduate degree in political communication from the George Washington University.
