The Leadership Network brings together senior leaders from diverse nonprofit organizations in a structured process that revolutionizes their capability to lead.
In a confidential setting, leaders share their challenges, learn techniques to form imaginative alternatives, co-create solutions, and build confidence toward successful leadership growth. The result is a powerful and unique shared learning experience.
The Leadership Network combines professional learning with strong peer support. It is designed to create a network of mutual reinforcement and unique model of leadership education. We take an intimate group of motivated leaders, build their capacity for discipline, adaptability, creativity, and integrity and have them experience team leadership once a month for a full day over a six month period.
While similar to a CEO roundtable concept, the program is distinctive in many ways:
• Participants build up their understanding of leadership methods in a shared learning experience
• They are empowered to explore and develop solutions for each others challenges in difficult arenas such as board relations or new marketing strategies.
• Learning modules are woven into the class day on topics such as change leadership, conflict resolution, and the concepts of building a learning organization.
• A skilled facilitator with extensive experience in organizational development leads the class.
The program provides a rare opportunity for nonprofit leaders from a variety of civil sector disciplines – the arts, social services, education, etc. – to meet in a confidential and mutually supportive environment. Experienced executives and emerging leaders grow their leadership skills and build relationships in this shared experience through the Leadership Network.
A key outcome of the Leadership Network has been the evolution of a sustained peer network beyond the program.
