Director of Development

The Filson Historical Society seeks an accomplished and energetic professional with extensive fund-raising experience or directly related professional background to lead development/fundraising efforts for The Filson, an independent 501 (c) 3 dedicated to collecting, preserving, and telling the significant stories of Kentucky and Ohio Valley history. This is an exciting opportunity to help plan and implement a capital campaign that will transform The Filson and build a culture of philanthropy for the future. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience providing strong, creative and strategic leadership as well as applying a sophisticated knowledge of fundraising and development to support long-term strategies for growth and expansion. A history of past fundraising success is preferred and knowledge of the local community is highly desirable. A complete job description is found on The Filson’s web site at www.filsonhistorical.org.
