House of Ruth - Community Relations Manager & Volunteer Coordinator

Full time/Exempt - Reports to Executive Director

Description:

House of Ruth Community Relations Manager will plan, manage and coordinate all special event fundraisers, especially the annual Dining Out For Life event, as well as creating and executing all direct mail appeals including House of Ruth newsletters. As a member of the AIDS Services Center Coalition he/she will take a leadership role in planning, coordinating and executing the annual Louisville AIDS Walk. He/She will also be responsible for producing materials and managing community outreach opportunities that support donor development including the House of Ruth website and social networking venues. This person is responsible for the recruitment and retention of volunteers as well as coordinating and managing the House of Ruth Volunteer program and various volunteer projects. In addition he/she is responsible for maintaining the Fundraiser donor base.

Qualification Requirements:

This position requires an individual who is a self-starter, detail oriented, accurate and reliable. Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, have good judgment, maintain confidentiality and be able to interact with a diverse group of people on a daily basis.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing/Communications or related field. Experience may be substituted for education
• Proven track record of nonprofit development experience
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Prior experience working with HIV positive persons and/or in a social services setting beneficial
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, Publisher and database management
• Experience in website management and social networking venues
• Possess a valid driver’s license and access to an insured personal vehicle
• Must be able to communicate in English
