Green Spark Awards Accepting Nominations rss feed

The 2012 Green Spark Awards will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 From 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the Louisville Zoo’s Herpaquarium.  A Green Spark Award will be presented to an individual, a for-profit entity, a non-profit agency, and an educational institution that have reduced energy use through innovation, community service and education.  Nominations for the awards will be accepted through February 29, 2012.  Send an email with a brief description of why the nominee should receive this award to ajgoldberg@insightbb.com.  Proceeds from this event will go to Project Warm.  Project Warm was founded in 1982 to provide free weatherization education and services for low-income households struggling to pay high utility bills.  They have one many awards for their own work and were recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy for their success in “energy innovation.”

GREEN SPARK AWARD nominations now being accepted through February 29 for the following categories:

LEADERSHIP: leader whose example, volunteer efforts & leadership made difference in energy-saving attitudes & practices

EDUCATION: institution that taught students energy conservation via action

COMMUNITY SERVICE: non-profit whose practices, programming & outreach promoted energy efficiency

BUSINESS: business whose energy saving efforts & public service resulted in a more energy efficient community
