Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Standards
The Better Business Wise Giving Alliance offers many charities, that meet the Standards for Charity Accountability, the option of applying for a BBB Charity Seal that can be displayed both online and in their solicitation materials.
The Center for Nonprofit Excellence works with our Greater Louisville BBB to help promulgate those standards. To learn more about the Wise Giving Standards, or to inquire about a charity review by the BBB, contact the Better Business Bureau at 502.588.0033.

National Standards of Excellence for Nonprofit Organizations
The success of nonprofit organizations depends upon public confidence and broad public support. Nonprofits are supported by individuals, corporations, and foundations through charitable contributions and volunteer effort; by government through contracts and grants; by consumers through purchases and fees; and by the general public through state and federal tax laws.
CNPE has joined The Standards for Excellence Institute® in the commitment to raising the level of ethics and accountability in nonprofit organizations. We pursue this promise through:
- maintaining a consultant on staff who is licensed by The Standards for Excellence Institute to promulgate and teach the standards
- periodically conducting seminars and workshops to explain and teach the standards to nonprofit organizations in the region
- using the standards as guidelines that inform our consulting services that we provide to our members in policy advice and counsel.

We think he was absolutely correct. And we want people to know who they are and what they do.
