Opportunities to receive gifts for your organization come along at the most unexpected times and places.  But most major gifts require strategy and self-discipline.  Dr. Paul Ransdell will give you some real techniques for overcoming the fear of the moment and learning to ask, handling objections and getting the gift. This training is great for development directors and board members, volunteers, and staff who’ve never asked before!

Participants will learn:

§        Techniques for overcoming the donor’s reluctance to schedule your visits

§        To ask for a major gift with genuine comfort and ease

§        To clarify the amount, the project, and the timing of a solicitation

§        To overcome a donor’s objections to the solicitation

Class participants will also receive a copy of the highly-rated book, “Asking: A 59-Minute Guide to Everything Board Members, Volunteers, and Staff Must Know to Secure the Gift,” by Jerold Panas.
