Regardless of one’s political orientation, it is clear that our nation is experiencing a high level of polarization, more than most of us have witnessed during our lifespans. For many, this polarization, combined with increasing uncertainty about the future, is increasing our levels of personal and professional stress, triggering intense emotions, including fear, confusion, anger, and frustration.

Our sector is feeling the pressure. Increased fiscal demands. Heightened concern about policy changes that directly impact our constituents. Personal and politically-driven misunderstandings and disagreements leaking into our professional lives.

How do we come together as a community in the face of these uncertainties and divisions? How do we individually find within ourselves a place of equanimity and inner harmony, even as we express our perspectives and engage the rights and responsibilities of citizenship? How do we move forward as a sector in these challenging times?

Please join us for a community conversation where we will:

a) discuss issues impacting our sector in an environment of civility, compassion, and candor;

b) seek to discern the opportunities for moving forward in service of the kind of community and nation we all desire to live in; and

c) learn simple yet effective tools for creating greater mindfulness, clarity, resilience, and inner harmony, so that we can bring our best selves to all that we are facing during this turbulent chapter in our nation’s history.

The program will be facilitated by Harry Pickens. Harry is an award-winning musician, educator and life transformation strategist. A Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner and Trainer, he is Founder/Director of Havening Louisville and Havening For Humanity.
