Making Fundraising More Comfortable For Your Board

The goBeyondHello Board Outreach Series uses the principle “Relationships Begin to Unlock Treasure Within.” Discover how to get board members to comfortably share some of their valuable resources with you and put them to work growing your mission.

Learn how to overcome the four biggest roadblocks that stop boards from fundraising. Release your organization's untapped potential. Continually uncover countless development treasures beyond the obvious. Create practical, easy ways to fundraise with the help of your board.

Tell a friend...courses will be taught by Marshall himself.

This fun, interactive half-day program shows board and key staff how to work in teams. You'll learn how to uncover all those golden nuggets buried within your board and supporters. You'll learn a step-by-step roadmap based on Marshall Howard's nationally acclaimed bestseller “Let’s Have Lunch." Marshall's unique, 25 year proven system helps you continually spot new opportunities based on a volunteer's occupation, lifestyle, hobbies, experiences, and passions.

To participate in this opportunity, you must register a minimum of two persons from your organization. Your team must include a board member and the CEO/Executive Director or a development staff person.

Each participant receives:

• One copy of Let’s Have Lunch Together prior to the workshop - $25 Value

• Full color Resource Manual - $20 Value

• New Donor Assessment Form for Board Members

• 3 CFRE or CAE certification or continuing education credits

Getting to the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNPE) is easy. We are located on the south side of downtown Louisville, KY in the restored ArtSpace building located at 323 West Broadway. You may enter ArtSpace just left of the Brown Theatre marquee. Signage will direct you to the first floor Fifth Third Conference Room. CNPE encourages all its visitors to access public transit as there are several convenient TARC bus routes within a short walk of our location. To find the TARC ride nearest you visit, www.ridetarc.org.

Are you a cycling guest? Bring your bicycle to the fifth floor for storage during your visit.

Should you drive to our location, there is ample parking within a two block radius including structures, surface lots and metered spaces. Due to the economic realities we all face, the Center for Nonprofit Excellence will be unable to validate parking. While we regret this financial necessity, we need to expend all of our resources where they matter most -- toward the highest level of quality services possible.

Instructor Name: Marshall Howard

  • Marshall Howard's Bio: Marshall is an attorney, former television network executive, teacher, and sales and marketing consultant. In the early 1980s, he founded Marshall Howard & Associates and Golf West. The goal was to combine an ongoing, collaborative relationship building program with a fundraising or customer appreciation event. It worked. Marshall quickly discovered the single biggest reason why most organizations experience continuous growth: their ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships, both internally and externally. After 20 years of relationship development with nonprofits and corporations, big and small, nationwide, Marshall decided to make a greater impact, by writing his now nationally acclaimed bestseller, "Let's Have Lunch Together." Today, our work solely focuses on teaching his collaborative relationship building process
