Newly appointed board chairs, vice-chairs, board officers, president-elects and other aspiring to lead a board one day. Report to Boot Camp!

Successful nonprofits are highly dependent on competent, well-governing boards. Those boards don’t evolve and maintain themselves without exemplary leadership that radiates from the key board leader, the board chair.

The Center for Nonprofit Excellence can give you a head start in assuming this role by attending our Board Chair Boot Camp. Our participants will leave this session with a solid grasp of skills and behaviors they need to possess in order to become highly effective in their role as board chairs.

Boot Camp participants will learn the key roles of an effective board chair, critical successful behaviors of board chairs, and how to develop the five key relationships superior board chairs must foster.

What past attendees are saying about Board Chair Boot Camp?

- “Gives me a much more clear sense of priorities”

- “If we apply only a small part of these concepts, we will be much better off.”

Special guest, Anne Wilhelmus, Vice President, Public Funds Relationship Manager, at Fifth Third Bank will share some of her personal reflections at the Boot Camp about serving as a board chair.

This is a must attend opportunity for board chairs. There is limited seating for this event, please register now. Registration includes light meal and refreshments.

Getting to the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNPE) is easy. We are located on the south side of downtown Louisville, KY in the restored ArtSpace building located at 323 West Broadway. You may enter ArtSpace just left of the Brown Theatre marquee. Signage will direct you to the first floor Fifth Third Conference Room. CNPE encourages all its visitors to access public transit as there are several convenient TARC bus routes within a short walk of our location. To find the TARC ride nearest you visit, www.ridetarc.org.

Are you a cycling guest? Bring your bicycle to the fifth floor for storage during your visit.

Should you drive to our location, there is ample parking within a two block radius including structures, surface lots and metered spaces. Due to the economic realities we all face, the Center for Nonprofit Excellence will be unable to validate parking. While we regret this financial necessity, we need to expend all of our resources where they matter most -- toward the highest level of quality services possible.
