Managing an organization’s finances is one of the toughest jobs.
The best leaders in this area take time to reflect with colleagues, share best practices and renew themselves. This confidential, yet friendly, gathering for Finance Directors and CFO will cover issues most important to increase your and your organization’s effectiveness.
Possible topics include, but not limited to:
• Are you compliant for fundraising/solicitation: KY Attorney General # in good standing
• Options for handling stock donations
• Managing needs of funders and other leadership staff
• Technology issues…do they plague you?
• Filing your annual report with the state,
• Benefits of Guidestar
• Letter or check from IRS….what to do?
• And more…
This learning experience is designed for finance directors and those who support finance directors of nonprofits looking to learn and share in a diverse community of leaders. Level of experience, staff and financial resources are diverse. Those interested in attending FLCE are those who understand the value of a diverse peer-directed learning environment that leads to improvement and refinement of their craft and work. The learning circle is based on the idea that every member has something to learn and every member has something to contribute.
The group meets on December 12 for a Meet and Greet. Then meets every second Thursday of each month starting on January 9, 2020. Each session runs from 9:00-10:30 a.m.
The goal is that the group will continue to meet and be self-sustaining after the sixth session. The first six dates are: January 9, February 13, March 12, April 9, May 14 and June 11.
Topics are agreed upon by the group members. Sessions will be designed to enable professional development, explore organizational challenges, discuss relevant topics, build community, as well as offer the peer support and shared resources to help you succeed in your role.
If you are a nonprofit finance director, or support nonprofits in the area of finance, please join us for our Finance Leadership Learning Circle, as we connect with your peers in a safe, energized and organizationally diverse community.
Due to the intimate nature of the group, participation is limited to 18 leaders.
The group is facilitated by Merv Antonio from the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, with special guests as needed.
