Supporting Connection and Conversation Across Difference: A Workshop for Nonprofit Leaders
August 27 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pmFree for Members / $25 for Nonmembers
Instructor: Malka Kopell
A compassionate community builds “social muscle” through creating and deepening relationships not only within our groups, but also across divides. Come meet and join with others doing this critical work in Louisville and receive a training from a nationally recognized organization who has selected Louisville as a pilot city. Those who participate in the training will be given the opportunity to join communities of learning and support to deepen and broaden the practices learned.
Participation also entitles participants to post-workshop coaching (over the phone and via email) to support them as they apply what they are learning to their own work and civic passion.
Join us to practice skill building in:
-How to deepen conversations
-Story-telling and story-listening
-“Putting difference on the table”
-Facilitating conversation spaces
-Folding in conversation across difference in community gatherings
Continental breakfast provided.
Instructor: Malka Kopell is Co-Founder and CEO of Civity, a SF-based nonprofit working on a national initiative to support leaders to build relationships across divides — of race, class, culture, religion, and politics.
