The Center for Nonprofit Excellence launched the CNPE School for Fundraising and Engagement in March 2021 to fill a gap in the training for nonprofit fundraising professionals in Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana. The James Graham Brown Foundation is providing seed funding to launch the school.
CNPE designed the School for Fundraising and Engagement, in collaboration with nonprofit consulting firm Ashley|Rountree and Associates, to significantly improve the ability of our community’s nonprofit sector (staff, board members, and volunteers) to access needed funding through a full range of methods and skills.
Classes will be presented via Zoom, will last 90 minutes each, and will cost $75 for CNPE members and $95 for nonmembers. (Scholarships are available to members.) The first semester will run from April through June, and the second semester will run from September through November. Class size will be limited to 25, and students who take eight classes (including five “core” classes) will qualify for a certificate issued by the school. We are applying to have our courses qualify for CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credits with CFRE International.
In 2022, in addition to repeating 2021’s course offerings, the School will add a special Philanthropy Leadership cohort of 20 participants who will join in an intensive six-month experience of learning and community service.
The School has received (and will continue to receive) significant, expert support from the Planning Committee identified below, most of whom will also serve as faculty. The Advisors identified below will provide ongoing guidance as the School develops its programming and expands its enrollment and outreach.
