Job Description

GENERAL FUNCTIONS: The Accountant II performs a variety of professional accounting work, including compiling, preparing, performing, and maintaining financial data/analysis in a shared services environment. Candidate will perform duties for all shared services partners as well as for clients of the shared services organization. Ensures all financial data is recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform basic accounting procedures, e.g. A/R, A/P, GL
  • Process payroll
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Perform recordkeeping, filing, and organization of vendor files
  • Ensures accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger
  • Examine and interpret financial data, including financial statements, spot inconsistencies between data, statements, and supporting financial records
  • Identify opportunities for improving process and service to shared services clients
  • Support month end, quarterly, and year-end closing
  • Communicate with clients to address any issues
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Restricted net asset accounting
  • Produce financial data for management team upon request and assist with other special accounting projects
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Process daily bank deposits

Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

SKILLS:

  • 2-3 years progressive accounting experience in public/private accounting environment
  • Non-Profit accounting experience a plus
  • Net Suite and Pay Com payroll system experience a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong computer aptitude including advanced Excel
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills

OTHER:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements
  • Must pass criminal background and motor vehicle check, post-contingent of offer of employment.
