Job Description

The Development Director is responsible for devising and overseeing the implementation of strategic fundraising and development decisions. The Development Director helps forge new relationships to build PWP’s visibility, impact and financial resources, through the solicitation of donations and major gifts from individual donors, grants, special events, corporate and foundation support. This position supports PWP’s objective to expand and diversify its donor base and secure funding for current and new initiatives. The Development Director reports to the Board of Directors.

Salary Range: $35,000 - $50,000

Job Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships with current and prospective funders and supporters of PWP
  • Develop and execute action plans for campaign sponsorship, grant proposals, special events, and other activities designed to procure sources of funding
  • Increase awareness of PWP in the community, which may include soliciting and overseeing TV, radio and print media coverage for PWP activities and fund raising events
  • Oversee and identify potential grant sources
  • Develop and track grants and reports
  • Secure sponsorships and donations for fundraisers
  • Solicit and oversee TV, radio, print and social media coverage of PWP activities and events to promote public awareness

Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, donors, community and business leaders
  • Understand the dynamics of development and fund-raising management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational abilities
  • Proficient in PC skills, including Microsoft Office, working with data bases, and social media outlets
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must be able to travel as needed
