Maryhurst provides treatment programs for severely traumatized children who most often are victims of sexual, physical, and/or emotional abuse. Children in our care turn to risk-taking behaviors to cope with their pain. These behaviors can include such actions as running away, truancy, suicidal gesturing, delinquency, and substance abuse. Their issues are further complicated by years of multiple placements in foster care and hospital settings. In fact, prior to their involvement with Maryhurst, any one of our children is likely to have experienced an average of 20 out-of-home placements. We work hard to provide consistency, structure, and love for children. It is because of this philosophy and the hard work of staff and volunteers that our programs are successful. Today Maryhurst provides nine different programs that address the unique needs of more than 600 children and their families. 

Job Skills / Requirements

Prepare long term strategic plan for marketing that identifies brand vision; business situation analysis including competitive landscape; strengths and weaknesses analysis; and target audience priorities and rationales. From this foundational content, develop advertising and public relations strategies. These should include but not be limited to messaging (branding, promotion, creative), media (traditional, digital & social, paid/unpaid), and public relations. Prepare annual, 52-week marketing/communications calendar reflecting all tactics & activities in support of the long term strategic marketing plan. Lead implementation of 52-week calendar throughout the year, involving key stakeholders as required (e.g. executive team members, board members, outside ad and public relations agencies, vendors, etc.). Quantify key annual marketing objectives and report metrics during operating year relative to these objectives. Develop and manage annual marketing budget so that approved, planned spending is not exceeded. 

Education Requirements (Any)

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required.

Must be a strong and dynamic communicator, strategic thinker, be data driven and analytical, should be interpersonally adept and effective with others. Must have experience with written, oral, small and large group presentations. Must have experience with multiple channel social media content posting. Must be able to manage relationships with existing PR and Advertising partners. College degree in Marketing or related field is required. Must have 2-5 years’ experience in consumer marketing, advertising or public relations.
