Position Summary:

The Director of Community Impact has the role of overseeing their designated focus area within the Kosair Charities Grants Program. This position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders and agencies to inform our Board of Directors about current trends, initiatives, and critical needs within their area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


  • In partnership with Kosair Charities Community Impact department and grants committee, develop and strengthen relationships with partner agencies to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Maintain current knowledge of community trends and data related to issues that affect children within assigned focus area
  • Work with grant applicants to understand partner agency needs and opportunities for collaboration
  • When necessary, identify and recruit new applicants for grant funding
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and collaborate with development and outreach teams to highlight the impact and need for specific strategies with assigned focus area
  • Assist in coordinating local experts and key stakeholders in a community-wide needs assessment on the status of children in assigned focus area
  • Provide regular updates to the Assistant Vice President of Community Impact regarding how grant funds are improving the lives of children within assigned focus area
  • Assist organizations with their grant strategy and focus to ensure they are best aligned with our mission
  • Coordinate site visits with the grants committee and funded organizations throughout the year

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multiple task and operate successfully under deadlines
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Proficient in complete suite of Microsoft Office software products
  • Aptitude for independent learning of computer and technical skills and experience in teaching these skills to others
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Proven results in facilitating efficient, productive, and highly motivated teams
  • Excellent administrative writing skills. Experience in drafting well written routine correspondence
  • Possess superior problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Able to represent the organization publicly and professionally with colleagues, donors, volunteers, Kosair Kids clients and providers, and vendors
  • Available for occasional night and weekend work assignments
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in non-profit setting
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Regular and consistent use of keyboard and mouse is necessary
