The mission of Family Scholar House is to provide comprehensive, holistic services for disadvantaged single parents, their children, and foster alumni. We are recognized as a national best practice headquartered in Louisville, serving more than 9,000 people annually, and focused on education as a primary path for ending the cycle of inherited poverty.
The role of the FSH Academy Coordinator and Career Coach is to prepare participants of Family Scholar House for the workforce and oversee all components of FSH Academy, a video catalog of life skills accessible by participants, and promote the mission and work of Family Scholar House, Inc.
The FSH Academy Coordinator and Career Coach will implement career-readiness activities for participants, planning and facilitating activities and recruiting both volunteers and participants. This includes resume building, creation of business cards, professional presentation, business etiquette classes, career exploration, job-shadowing opportunities, speed mentoring events, and mock interviewing.
Coordinate, create, and maintain video library for FSH Academy. Recruit and support subject-matter experts in sharing their knowledge in video format, track usage of videos, and review assessments to provide data as needed.
Represent Family Scholar House in the community and network with potential career volunteers. Share information about Family Scholar House and support referral relationships with the community through presentations, tabling events, and informational sessions with other community organizations.

Salary Range: $35,000 - $45,000
- Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts, Human Resources, Communications, or related field. Master degree preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong organizational skills
- Valid Driver's license
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with database entry preferred
- Knowledge and ability to research via Internet
- Knowledge and ability to utilize email
