The Cabbage Patch Settlement House is a local, non-profit Christian organization located in Old Louisville Neighborhood. Our mission is to equip and empower at-risk children, youth and their families to be self-sufficient by helping them maximize their economic, educational, emotional, moral, physical, social and spiritual potential. Under the direction of the Annual Fund Manager, the Special Events Coordinator will oversee and manage the special events fundraising elements and support the overall fundraising efforts of the organization. This individual will work in a fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-tasking office environment. S/he will provide direction to the Special Event Assistant and volunteers. In consultation with event volunteer leadership and senior staff, s/he will set fundraising goals for events and determine strategies needed to accomplish those goals. The Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining event expenses and keeping them within budget guidelines. This candidate plays a key role in identifying and pursuing new sponsorship opportunities, as well as managing and soliciting major corporate sponsorships and donors for special events. Occasionally, this candidate will be required to work evenings and weekends. This person must be able to develop positive relationships with our Board of Directors, Board President, committee chairs, our participants, staff, and volunteers.
