Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (additional duties may be assigned):
- Strategic Planning

- Lead the planning and implementation of the strategic plan regarding activities relating to donor solicitations and other Club fundraising efforts
- Oversee the planning and implementation of overall development goals, strategies, and activities relating to the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects and donors

- Resource Development
- Conceive, plan and execute fundraising strategies that achieve the Board-approved Resource Development budget
- Generate fundraising income through major gifts from individual donors making gifts of $5,000 and above, managing all aspects of the Great Futures Annual Campaign, and working to provide support and make requests of members of the Board of Directors.
- Evaluate and determine giving trends of current donors and identify those with the potential to upgrade to a higher level or to make a planned gift
- Identify new prospects and work with other staff and Board members to cultivate and solicit new donors and explore new partnerships and special events
- Work closely with key staff, volunteers and Board members to educate and engage them in donor solicitations and develop a culture of philanthropy
- Develop, implement and manage the Heritage Club planned giving program
- Serve as the lead for Metro United Way speaking engagements, with support from Resource Development staff, other staff and Board members
- Conduct research on donors and prospects as needed
- Resource Management
- Develop and manage Resource Development budget (fundraising, marketing and public relations) as well as the overall revenue budget
- Monitor fundraising efforts and progress towards goals
- Marketing/Public Relations
- Oversee the development and implementation of a marketing and public relations plan designed to increase visibility of Club programs, services, and activities
- Maintain good public relations with donors, prospects and the community at-large
- Develop collaborative partnerships with donors, prospects, volunteers, media contacts, consultants, vendors, etc.
- Work to enhance the organization’s public image and positioning and foster positive external relations
- Administration/Other
- Manage and/or participate in relevant committees and sub-committees of the Board of Directors
- Perform additional duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and oversee Resource Development staff
- Assist with managing and overseeing interns
Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with experience at Executive/Senior Management level preferred
- Successful experience in developing major gifts and legacy (planned) gifts preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a Master’s degree preferred in a related field
- CFRE certification or other philanthropic credential preferred
- Supervisory experience in a fundraising role required.
- Considerable knowledge of fundraising techniques and sources of funding for not-for-profit agencies
- Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or other not-for-profit organization preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with fundraising and/or donor management software, i.e. Bloomerang, E-Tapestry, Raisers Edge
- Must be available for local, state, and national travel as required
