Flagship Programs

Tried and true, Destination:Excellence, ShipShape, and Circles of Excellence are CNPE’s flagship programs. They repeat either monthly, annually, or bi-annually and often represent a greater ongoing time commitment than our typical workshops.

Destination:Excellence 2020

It’s lonely at the top. That’s why we’ve created a nonprofit leadership program that brings nonprofit leaders together.

Destination: Excellence is the ideal opportunity for nonprofit executive leaders who are new to the ED/CEO role or who want to be sure they have a solid understanding of all major aspects of nonprofit management. This intensive learning and leadership development program delivers 45 hours of actionable content over 6 full days (and a half day) in a six-month time period.

All classes are 9 AM – 4:30 PM. Our Destination: Excellence 2020 applications are now OPEN. Deadline for applying is January 10, 2020.

Tuition is based on a sliding scale of the organization’s annual revenue. M = Member, NM = Non-Member.

  • Less than $500,000 = $700 M /$900 NM
  • $500,000 – $999,999 = $850 M /$1,050 NM
  • $1,000,000 – $1,999,999 = $1,000 M /$1,200 NM
  • $2,000,000 & higher = $1,250 M /$1,500 NM

  • Session 1 – Friday, February 21, 2020

Circles of Excellence

A connected nonprofit community is a community which is equipped to EXCEL. Healthy dialogue and relationship-building are essential to generating the kind of informed, collaborative nonprofit sector we know is possible in Greater Louisville. Plus, the data shows that adult learners absorb knowledge best in a communal setting.

CNPE is committed to creating the type of community where these critical conversations occur. No matter who you are, what role you play in an organization, or how long you’ve been in our sector, we’re here to propel you and your organization forward.

To meet this growing need, we’re proud to offer Circles of Excellence — a regularly scheduled opportunity for nonprofit professionals to gather and connect on topics relevant to their specific fields. Currently, we offer the following Circles:

Executive Leadership: A confidential and friendly convening of nonprofit CEOs from across the Greater Louisville area. By invitation only. For more information, contact Merv Antonio.

Finance Leadership: a monthly gathering for nonprofit CFOs or Finance Directors who will meet once a month for at least six months to discuss issues, share ideas, and renew yourselves in service to your success.

Young ProfessionalsStay tuned for 2019 details.

Marketing & Communications: This informal facilitated group meets for coffee and conversation on the third Tuesday of each month starting April 16. Don’t miss this great opportunity to ask questions and share tips, advice, and strategies with your colleagues. The group is facilitated by Hannah Nitzken, Senior Communications Coordinator at Nationwide and former Communications Director at CNPE from 9:00 am-10:30 am on the third Tuesday of each month starting April 16th through September 17th.

We are looking forward to intentionally growing this offering to include other specialties — but in order to do so we need your feedback! Share your ideas for future Circles of Excellence by clicking the button below.

Perfect for those moments you need to quickly hone in on a skill, topic, or competency, CNPE’s ongoing workshops typically happen in 1-2 hour, half day, or full day sessions and focus on topics like Fundraising, Leadership, Board Governance, Marketing, and more.

CNPE offers exclusive professional development and classes partnering with The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University throughout the year? Stay tuned for 2019 dates!
