Registration Policies

CNPE creates an inclusive environment for all who attend our events, either virtually or in person. If you have questions about registering for a CNPE event, please check to see if you can find an answer here. If you still have questions, please contact Merv Antonio, our Senior Director of Learning & Convening, at 502-618-5328 or mantonio@cnpe.org.

We strive to provide accessible, exceptional programming that helps you perform better in your nonprofit role. If we miss the mark, please let us know at learning@cnpe.org.

COVID-19

For most of the time since the COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2020, we have presented all of our training virtually. As more and more people are getting vaccinated and the risk of contracting COVID is declining, we are offering more events in person. In-person events give participants a chance to see each other face to face.

But COVID has not disappeared. For in-person events, CNPE will observe then-current COVID prevention guidelines for public meetings – including possible masking. All of our staff are fully vaccinated, and we encourage participants at our events to get vaccinated, too. Obviously, if you exhibit signs of COVID within two days before a CNPE event, you should get a COVID test and attend only if it is negative. If you must miss a training due to COVID, contact Merv Antonio at 502-618-5328 or mantonio@cnpe.org to request a refund or a credit.

Advance Registration

We urge you to register in advance registration for all CNPE events and trainings – particularly in-person ones. For events with registration fees, CNPE requires payment upon registration. Registering for an event (including registration with a scholarship) constitutes an agreement to pay the registration fee, whether or not you attend the event. We do not issue refunds or credits for non-attendance. (But if you know in advance that you cannot attend, we can transfer the registration to someone else if you let us know at least 24 hours in advance. See “Transfers,” below.)

Virtual Events

Advance registration closes right before the start of the event – though we urge you to register as far in advance as possible. Your confirmation will include instructions for joining the Zoom session.

Registration for paid virtual events is for individual registrants only, not multiple users. Do not share access information to virtual events. Event materials may be subject to intellectual property rights, and we send session materials only to registrants who have paid to attend the event. You cannot share or reproduce them.

In-Person Events

Advance registration closes right before the start of the event – though we urge you to register as far in advance as possible.

We cannot guarantee you a space at an in-person event unless you register in advance. If an event reaches capacity, we will close registration early and give notice of that on our website. We do keep waiting lists, though, so contact Merv Antonio at 502-618-5328 or mantonio@cnpe.org to ask for that.

Payment

You can register online using a credit or debit card. If you need alternative payment options, contact admin@cnpe.org.

Refunds

We will refund your event registration fee if you make your request in writing to learning@cnpe.org at least three days in advance. After that, we can offer you a credit (see below).

Substitutions

If you cannot attend, you can substitute someone else. Please contact us at learning@cnpe.org and let us know who will attend in your place. Include the name of the original attendee in the email, and the name and email address of the substitute attendee.

Transfers

You can transfer your registration to another event if you contact us at least three days in advance at learning@cnpe.org. You can transfer to an event of equal or lower value; if you transfer to a more expensive event, we will charge you the difference in price.

Credits

We will give you a credit for your registration fee in the case of:

  • A death in your family;
  • A sudden hospitalization of you or an immediate family member;
  • A severe illness requiring immediate medical attention; OR
  • A contagious illness such as COVID being contracted and not recovered from before the event.

You must request your credit or refund by email to learning@cnpe.org before the event starts, and use event credits within 90 days after we issue them.

Accommodations

We try to make our events accessible to all individuals. If you need live captioning, ASL interpretation, or another accessibility service, please email learning@cnpe.org as far in advance of the event as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Whenever possible, in-person CNPE conferences and events will have space reserved for nursing infants.

If you have questions or would like to confirm that we received your request, please contact us at learning@cnpe.org at least two weeks before the event, or three weeks for conferences and large events. We will try to meet all accessibility requests, late requests may not be fulfilled.

Inclement Weather

Generally, for in-person events, CNPE follows local public school districts’ inclement weather decisions. If the public school in the district of the event closes, CNPE will cancel the event and issue refunds. We will cancel events at least three hours before they start, and we will notify you by email.

Event Cancellation or Postponement

CNPE may cancel any event due to low enrollment, inclement weather, or other circumstances that would make the event unfeasible. We will give registrants a full refund.

We may also postpone events due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified via email. We will automatically transfer your registration to the new date, but we will give you a refund if you ask for it at least one week after we notify you of the postponement.
